SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World: Tickets, Skip the Line & What to See

SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World is the largest aquarium in Southeast Asia, sitting in the basement of Siam Paragon mall with direct BTS access. It is one of Bangkok’s most-visited indoor attractions - partly for the genuinely impressive collection of over 30,000 marine creatures, and partly because Siam station makes it one of the easiest major sights in the city to reach. Here is how to visit without overpaying or waiting in unnecessary queues.

• Glass Bottom Boat: approx. ฿250 per person (10-minute guided boat ride over the main ocean tank)
• Shark Walk: approx. ฿500–800 (wading through a shallow shark enclosure - yes, real sharks)
• 4D Cinema: approx. ฿150–200
• Penguin Encounter: separate advance booking required

The shark walk and penguin encounter require advance booking - they fill up quickly on weekends and school holidays.

Getting there

By BTS (recommended): Take any line to Siam station - it is a central interchange point accessible on both the Sukhumvit and Silom Lines. Use Exit 1 from Siam station, which leads directly into Siam Paragon ground floor. Take the elevator or escalator down to B1 - SEA LIFE is clearly signposted throughout the mall.

Journey time from popular Bangkok areas:

• From Asok / Nana (Sukhumvit): 2–4 stops, approximately 8–12 minutes
• From Silom (Sala Daeng): 2 stops on Silom Line, approximately 6 minutes
• From On Nut: 4 stops, approximately 12 minutes

By taxi/Grab: Ask for “Siam Paragon” - all drivers know it. From Sukhumvit Soi 11, approximately ฿80–120 depending on traffic. From the Old Town, approximately ฿100–180.

What you’ll see

The aquarium is divided into themed zones connected by a self-guided route:

Rocky Shore: Rockpool touch tank with starfish, sea urchins, and small rays - ideal for children. Staff in this zone are attentive about explaining what visitors are touching.

Ocean Tunnel: The signature experience - a 270-degree acrylic tunnel running through the main ocean tank. Sharks, rays, and large reef fish move through the water directly overhead and to the sides. This is what most visitors come for, and it delivers. The tunnel walkway is wide enough that even on busy days you can stop and take your time.

Tropical Zone: Coral reef tanks with clownfish, lionfish, seahorses, and surgeonfish. Better colour and variety than many purpose-built coral exhibits.

Deep Reef: Darker zone mimicking deeper ocean environments, with jellyfish tanks, moray eels, and a large ray habitat.

Living Ocean: Open ocean tank (the largest in the aquarium) with several species of shark including nurse sharks and zebra sharks, plus sea turtles.

Penguin Ice Lounge: Sub-zero zone housing a colony of gentoo penguins. Feeding sessions at set times; check the daily schedule at entry.

Rockpool Lab: Interactive educational zone for children with science-themed activities.

Feeding shows and daily schedule

SEA LIFE Bangkok runs daily feeding shows and keeper talks at fixed times - the schedule is posted at the entrance and changes seasonally. The most popular are:

• Shark feeding: typically 12:30 and 16:00
• Otter feeding: typically 11:30 and 14:30
• Penguin feeding: typically 13:00 and 15:00

Arrive 10–15 minutes early for the best viewing position at feeding shows, particularly on weekends.

Opening hours

Daily 10:00–21:00 (last entry 20:00) as of 2026. Being inside Siam Paragon means the aquarium follows the mall’s schedule - confirm on the SEA LIFE website before public holidays.

Skip-the-line tips

• Book online via Tiqets for e-tickets scanned at the entrance
• Weekday mornings (10:00–12:00) are consistently the quietest times
• School holidays in May, October, and around Songkran are significantly busier
• The walk-up queue at the ticket desk on weekends can reach 45 minutes; an online ticket skips it entirely

Combining with a Siam day

SEA LIFE sits inside Bangkok’s largest shopping and entertainment district. A natural day structure:

1. Arrive at Siam at 10:00, spend 2–3 hours in SEA LIFE
2. Lunch at one of the Siam Paragon or Siam Center food courts (฿120–300 per person)
